It's another year - or it will be soon where I live and already is elsewhere, so happy new year and such! I'm too lazy to retype my Chinese phrases of goodwill because really, it's a big pain to try nor do I want to look them up online.
I had my festivities twelve hours early, because my brother won't be home for new year's so we as a family just decided to go by HK time and have an early new year XD There was the usual food on Saturday, our 'new year's eve', with a big dinner with eight dishes, since seven's unlucky and all. And we had lots left over, in accordance with that Chinese saying that I'm too lazy to type out, and had all the traditionally lucky foods. And today we had vegetarian meals, 'cause it's only fair that after a year of slaughtering animals for meat that we give them this day (technically should be longer, but we don't adhere to traditions that strictly xD) where we let them be. And I got money from red pockets, which is good, and I called all the relatives to greet them happy new year and such - convenient that all my relatives live in Hong Kong or it'd be weird telling them such a day in advance.
I'm going to have more new year's celebrations tomorrow and over the weekend, when I'll visit the family friends and get more money. And getting money obviously isn't the point of new year. I know. >___> Money is just a nice bonus~. XD
I didn't go to the new year countdown at the mall this year, because well, there are always too many people and it's a pain. XD And staying at home with family is nice enough anyway.
I have school tomorrow, but I really don't want to go. XD Since now I have to go leave to visit other friends - new year's eve partying and such - and I know I'll probably have a huge headache tomorrow morning from a) not sleeping, b) being around loud people for too long, c) drinking which is totally legal, yups, or d) all of the above. xD
